BEEF BREAKDOWN CLASS- We awill be hosting an amazing hands on educational seminar! Highlighting our friend’s from Flying F Ranch down the road. They raise local pasture beef and you will be learn in all about how they raise them, to to butcher beef, all the cuts and anatomy, AND take home a bunch of local beef that day! This is an good amount that will fit in any size freezer and you don’t need to invest in a giant drop down. This will start around 8 am on Saturday 6/3 in Shepards Hall at Whispering Winds. Please bring a sack lunch or you can buy lunch from one of our food vendors on site that day. This is an awesome activity to do if someone in your family wants to shoot and others do not. Please bring a small cooler and a water bottle too!   We suggest arriving 45-60 minutes early to park as there will be a lot going on that day at Whispering Winds and it may take a little to check in and get your car all parked.

Lodging options at Whispering Winds that weekend are available at WWW.FULLSENDRANCH.NET

Plan on hanging around for dinner! You are welcome to bring a change of clothes as we are having a fundraiser for our 501C3 that night. There will be a party and dinner hosted by The Ranch right after this event is over. We suggest staying at The Julian lodge use code “THERANCH”,  or we have multiple camping options on www.fullsendranch.net.

About Flying F Beef:

Bryce and Alli Fender were married in June of 2014 on Mesa Chiquita Ranch which lies on the outskirts of San Diego County. Alli’s dad gifted the couple with 10 head of bred heifers (young female cattle that haven’t had a calf yet) as a wedding gift and that is how Flying F Ranch began.

Over the past few years, the Fenders have diversified their small herd by offering beef direct-to-consumer in whole and half shares to local San Diegans.

As well, they have added in Registered Black Angus to amplify the genetic potential to their herd. Adding in the Black Angus has significantly increased carcass quality, feed efficiency and overall growth of their operation.

The ranch starts feeding their weaned calves (about 6 months old) on spent beer grain that is picked up at two local San Diego breweries. This is an easily digestible by-product of beer production and is a great sustainable source of protein, fiber and energy for the young calves. They always have access to open pasture, mineral and fresh water.

Flying F Ranch Beef is finished the last 90 days with a formulated grain diet. The “Beef Builder” grain is locally put together by an animal nutritionist at a grain mill. The mixture has corn, barley, milo, oats and alfalfa pellets that are packed with vitamins and minerals specific for beef cattle.

Bryce and Alli have been blessed with serving the local community with high quality Black Angus Beef. Flying F Ranch offers whole and half shares currently, and the next dates for beef will be summer of 2023.

Please make sure waivers are all done for both Whispering Winds and The Ranch before arrival!
