Our Story & Our Mission

Our Story:

We are The Cook Family. We are advocates for agriculture, hunting & self-sustainability, the military/America, and living free. The meaning of living free is personal to everyone and carry’s different meaning. To us it is about providing for ourselves in as many ways as we can and living free from as much reliance on the government and corporate chains as possible.

We are also deeply passionate about the humane raising of pigs and approach pork production as an art form. This was born from a need to find healthier sourced food after our first son was diagnosed with Autism.

We open our ranch for educational programs and bettering yourself through others. To learn more about Mike & Krys Cook you can go to “our team”.

Our Mission:

We do outdoor education and bring special populations of people through our programs who can benefit from it. We believe that the outdoors has many therapeutic qualities and want to give people the gift of the outdoors. They learn how to approach it, utilize it, and make it a tool for themselves. These programs give our participants discipline, purpose, happiness, community, support, and drive. These are skills that they then can do on their own and share with their families. These skills translate to therapy.

The programs are designed to give them a baseline of education and understanding of whatever activity they may be doing, and then the experience.

Our goals are to be able to run 8-10 programs a year. We currently have a Navy SEAL Gold Star program, combat wounded women veteran program, Navy SEAL snowboard program, widows of police officer bird hunts, veteran charter fishing trips, and we will have more. First responders and veteran related programs are the focus, and adding youth programs in here as well.

The goal is to create long term programs where they have support from our volunteer team and they create a tribe/community of support within the learning.

Our 501c3 is 100% volunteer based. Money donated goes directly to our programs and to The Ranch to run the programs. Donors are welcome to donate directly to a specific program. Please email us for more info on how you can help.
